Body 0480 is the coarse-textured companion to 0468 — same base colour, but with chamotte ground to 0–2 mm for a distinctly sandy, rustic surface. The coarse chamotte makes large-scale hand building easier by reducing drying stress and providing more structural integrity for tall or wide pieces. The surface texture is a design element in itself: tool marks, impressed textures, and slab join lines all read beautifully on this clay.
