About Us
Ceramic Cube started in a small rented room in 2019. There was one wheel, a kiln I was figuring out as I went, and a simple belief that Qatar needed a place where people could slow down and make something with their hands. I didn't know if it would work. I just knew it needed to exist.
It worked. People came — curious, sometimes sceptical, often stressed — and left calmer, more themselves. By January 2022 we'd outgrown that first space and opened our community studio in Lusail, Doha. Bigger wheels, better kilns, a proper space for people to gather, linger, and create together.
Our mission is simple: make ceramics genuinely accessible in Qatar, and build a creative community around it. Not a rarified art-world experience. Not a one-off novelty. A real, ongoing practice that people can build into their lives.
We offer beginner and intermediate workshops for individuals and groups, monthly and annual studio memberships for those who want regular access, open studio sessions, handmade ceramics made right here in the studio, and tools and materials for those developing their own practice at home. Whatever level you're at, there's a way in.
The studio is based in Lusail, Doha, Qatar — five years in, and still the place I'm most proud to spend my time. If you've ever been curious about pottery, or if you just need somewhere to put your phone down and make something real, come and visit us. The clay is always ready.
Where Clay Meets Community
Ceramic Cube is Qatar's leading pottery studio, based in Foxhills, Lusail, Doha. Since opening in January 2022, we've brought thousands of people to the wheel — complete beginners, working artists, schools, and corporates. If you've ever wanted to try pottery, or you're ready to take it seriously, this is where you do it.
How It Started
Founder Hameed Al Qahtani first experienced wood-fire pottery abroad and came back determined to bring that world to Qatar. Between 2019 and 2021, he worked out of a smaller space — sharpening his craft and proving that Qatar had real appetite for a community studio. What he found confirmed it. Ceramic Cube opened its full studio doors in January 2022, and it's been growing ever since.
What We're Here For
Pottery is one of the world's oldest crafts — we believe Qatar deserves a proper home for it. That means accessible workshops for first-timers, real studio time for developing potters, quality materials and equipment, and instruction that actually teaches you something. No gatekeeping. Open to all levels, all ages, all backgrounds.
Three years into the community studio and we're not slowing down. More workshops, stronger community events, and a growing platform for Qatar's ceramic artists to be seen and supported. If you haven't been in yet — there's never been a better time.
