"For months this studio has lived quietly — wheels turning before dawn, kilns running through the night, glazes failing and then, slowly, learning to bloom. On the sixth of June, we light the first ceremonial firing. Not alone — but with you in the room. There will be fire, wet earth, the smell of clay drying, and a small group of people who care about the slow craft. Come stand at the beginning of something."

What the evening will hold

    A wheel-throwing demonstrationLive, from the studio's centre wheel — a vessel rising from a single ball of clay.
  • II.
    The first-firing ceremonyA small, ceremonial loading of the kiln — the studio's inaugural firing, marked together.
  • III.
    A glaze pour at sunsetA communal pour as the light shifts — every guest dips a hand-thrown piece to take home.
  • IV.
    Mezze, dates, cardamom coffeeA light Qatari-rooted spread, served on plates thrown by the studio.
